This on-demand webinar explores the growing clinical and public health considerations surrounding cannabis and psychedelic use in today’s evolving legal landscape. Educational Goal
This presentation reviews current evidence related to the physical and mental health effects of cannabis and psychedelics, including cognitive, cardiovascular, and psychological impacts. It also explores how legalization may influence patterns of use and disorder, and considers implications for diagnosis, treatment, and public health.

TOPIC: Ethics and Risk Management in Addiction, Pain Treatment, and Intervention
This program will focus on the legal and administrative risks for providers, with a focus on Chemical Dependency/Pain Treatment Center providers and Intervention providers. Participants will be introduced to risk assessment tools and learn strategies and techniques to reduce risk exposure. It will include a review of the legal demands for reporting child abuse.
About the Presenter: David “Mick” Meagher is an attorney in California. He received his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law. Prior to entering law, he spent 17 years in Chemical Dependency Treatment. Mick authored, Beginning of a Miracle: How to Intervene with the Addicted or Alcoholic Person. (Health Communications, Inc. 1987). He has guided over 2,200 interventions, training over 5,000 professionals to establish intervention services.
